Summer Trip Day 1: Venice - Bologna - San Marino - Rimini

The wait is finally over.. The picture parades will start here.. :D

After a long flight of 16 hours from Jakarta to Venice (via Singapore and Frankfurt), we finally arrived at our destination, Venice in Italy. But that's not our first destination city. From the airport, we directly went inside the bus towards Bologna for lunch.

In the bus, our two birds from 'Verano Caliente' series were peeping. Though still experiencing some jetlag after the long flight, they were very excited to go overseas.

"First overseas trip for us,
we are very happy.. :D"

"The sunlight is too strong outside,
let's take cover inside daddy's bag.."

After approximately 30 minutes drive, finally we spotted the road sign of 'Bologna', our place for lunch..

In Bologna, we went to '7 Arches' restaurant. We had a 3-course lunch, starting from the appetizer, main course and dessert. The appetizer was Cheese Tortellini and Tomato Gramigna, followed by the main course which consisted of grilled meat (chicken, lamb, pork and beef). And finally, the lunch was concluded with chocolate cake dessert. From all the dishes, we liked the appetizer the most.. The rest was just okay. :)

Cheese Tortellini and Tomato Gramigna
Super yummy.. :D

When lunchtime was over, our stomach were very full. It was a good time to take a walk back to the bus passing Bologna city centre. :) We spotted some interesting things along the way..

Statue of a famous poet from Bologna..
Standing in the middle of the street.. :D

Recreational train to sightseeing inside Bologna,
sadly no time for this.. :(

Time to wave goodbye to Bologna.. It's time to continue our trip..

"Bye, Bologna!! Hope next time we can go
back here.. :)"

So, our next destination is San Marino, one of the smallest countries in the world. It's located only 1 hour drive from Bologna, so we didn't have to sit too long in the bus. :D

Welcome to San Marino, everyone!!

"We finally arrived in San Marino."

"Sadly, mummy won't let us get out from the bus..
So, we just wait in the bus for a while. :)"

Because I'm too lazy and too tired to fetch the two birds out, this time it's me who'll show you San Marino.. :D Hope you don't mind seeing my pictures for a while.. :p

Mint Slurpee, we're too tired to walk too much :D

We only spent 1 hour in San Marino. Everybody was too tired, but the tour schedule was quite packed so we must hold on. :D Sadly, we didn't have a chance to visit the Ferrari Museum. It must be pretty interesting. :(

So, before we hopped back to the bus, I snatched the birds so they could strike a pose in San Marino as well :D

"Our next destination: Rimini"

Rimini, our next and last destination of the day, is a city in Italy, famous for its beaches. Many Italians come there in summer. :) It is only about 45 minutes drive from San Marino.

We waved good-bye once again to San Marino and drove towards Rimini.

By the time we entered Rimini, everyone was very tired already. None really listened to the guide's explanations about Rimini. Well, not many sightseeing places in Rimini, but I'll try to show something from the city. ;)

Well, this one is not an important monument or anything.
Notice the horses painting on the wall.
Don't they resemble NICI Horse Club? :D

Augustus a few centuries ago..
Behind the arch is Piazza Tre Martiri, the shopping street in Rimini

Finally, it's time to end the day. We had our dinner in the hotel and everybody merely had any appetite left for food. Again, the dinner was a 3-course meals. Started with salad, main course and ended with dessert. The main course was grilled turkey, well the taste was okay but not wonderful. This time, we loved the dessert the most. It looked like a pannacotta, but not really sure what this is..

The super delicious dessert to end the day

That's the end of our first day. Not much from the first day, but you can expect more beautiful pictures and places in the next days after we recharge ourselves with a good night sleep. :p

See you in the next posts!! :D
